Do remove ALL graffiti-vandalism: not just SOME
Graffiti-vandalism can be like litter: when there is some, more can collect. It must all be removed in order to minimise the likelihood of it returning.
Do immediately remove any new graffiti-vandalism
Remove NEW graffiti-vandalism as soon as it re-appears: it's much easier to remove when new, and also reduces the likelihood of the vandals returning.
Do dress properly
Wear glasses, gloves, proper shoes and Hi-Viz shirt. If you get liquid in your eyes or on your skin, wash off immediately.
Do choose the easier option: smaller areas are best cleaned, larger areas are best painted
Depending on the surface, it can be easier to clean off surfaces if less than A5 size. Or if larger, it might be best to paint over. If the surface was previously painted, its best to always paint over no matter the size.
Don't get into discussions about 'graffiti' versus art

Do get to know who to report to
Each type of asset or surface is owned by one of about 6-7 'owners' who are responsible for removal. Get to know these most common owners and reporting methods so you can quickly and easily report on vandalism for abatement. See the 'Reporting' page for who to report to.
